Manila, Philippines – Securemetric Technology was invited by Development of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) to be one of their exhibitor at The Philippines International Cybersecurity Conference 2018 held in Grad Regal Hotel, Davao City last October 26-26. Back in 2016, Philippines was afflicted with cyber-attacks from government website defacement to the largest government data breach. On its second year, PICC 2018 highlighted the outline of the top cybersecurity challenges to improve the role between the government, private industry and civil society in response to cybercrimes since Philippines has a current journey towards its goal of cyber resiliency.

This two day event was participated with over 400 delegates from information technology division of the government and private sector. Local and international cybersecurity experts discussed about cyber threats, issues in the current Philippine cyber setting and the implementation milestones of the National Cybersecurity plan. Delegates benefited from the convention as they discovered ways to improve their security and it was a good avenue to create connection that will lead to partnerships among government sector, private sector and the civil society.

DICT has come a long way and has been increasing cybersecurity awareness, and they are encouraging Filipinos to achieve a common goal towards cyber resiliency. “There will be obstacles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. But with hard work, there are no limits. With the patriotism and collaboration of all of you gathered here who work together with us on this vital issue, with the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte, and, I know, with the support and the prayers of the Filipino people, we will defend our nation. We will defend our nation on this cyber frontier. And I know, as Filipinos have always done, we will do it together.” quoted Assistant Secretary Mr. Allan Cabanlong.

Securemetric‘s advanced technology is timely for Philippine market as they have a journey towards its goal of cyber resiliency.
